Total raised so far by Withernsea Wear it Pink Supporters £22,377.42 (up to year 2009)
Since 2005, Wigs and Pieces decided to choose Wear it Pink, for Breast Cancer Campaign as it's chosen charity.
We started off as a small group of approximately 30-50 people and we raised £1,100.10 in the one night in Withernsea on Wear it Pink Day. We held a raffle, pop quiz a domino round robin and collected in the streets of Withernsea.
Since 2005, the campaign has grown so much so that we now hold different events throughout the year. There are now hundreds of people supporting our campaign. Events included in 2009, A football event which included selling all cakes and proceeds to the charity, and all members played in Pink!! junior and infant schools had a wear it pink day, a Friendship 3 mile walk, a coffee morning in Easington, plus donations from many companies, including the local newspaper, The Holderness Gazette, who gave a portion of the advertising to us. The theme for 2010 is Pink Hawaiian....please come and join us in the fun as well as raising money for this cause.
